Public access to information

If you've applied to higher education studies in Sweden. your grades and other qualifications will most likely be released if someone requests them.

The Principal of Public Access to Information is the principle by which documents at public authorities must be made available to the public.

The activities of the government and municipalities must be transparent for the public and media. This means that you have the ability to access most of the documents that have been submitted to the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), but also that others can request to see the information that you've submitted to us.

UHR is the public authority responsible for University Admissions in Sweden and the application process to higher education.

In order for a document to not be released, it must be deemed:

  • not public, or
  • confidential.

In order for a document to be considered public, it must be:

  1. a document
  2. stored
  3. at a public authority
  4. and was either received
  5. or produced there.
